John Clifford

Co-Founder and Principal

Mr. Clifford is a former Vice Chairman of CBRE’s Capital Markets Group, building his national practice from the ground up over a 25-year span. He has originated and closed more than 500 separate transactions totaling in excess of $20 billion across all major and niche product types in numerous North American markets, as well as, Europe and Asia. His clients have included well known institutional funds, investment managers, public and private REITS, and top tier developers. Previously, Mr Clifford worked with Balcor/American Express and Continental Illinois National Bank and Trust Company. Mr. Clifford received his Bachelor of Science degree from University of Illinois and a Masters of Business Administration from DePaul University.

 


 

Thomas Odai

Co-Founder and Principal

Mr. Odai has extensive entrepreneurial successes which include multi-housing development and hospitality ventures. He was one of the original development partners for Campus Crest Communities, Inc. (NYSE: CCG), the then-second largest student housing company in North America. Mr. Odai previously was employed with Travelers Realty Investment Company, where he was involved with commercial real estate work-outs. Prior to Travelers, Mr. Odai worked with Homart Development Company, one of the country’s largest retail builders before its acquisition by General Growth Properties. Mr. Odai received his Bachelor of Arts degree from St. Lawrence University and a Masters of Business Administration from Duke University.

 


 

Robbie Robinson

Vice President-Construction

Mr. Robinson is responsible for project design, preconstruction supervision, and construction management. Prior to joining Corvue, Mr. Robinson was Vice President of Design for Campus Crest Construction, the construction platform for Campus Crest Communities (NYSE: CCG). During his tenure with Campus Crest Construction, Mr. Robinson was directly involved in twenty-six student housing properties with a construction contract value in excess of $560 million. A twenty-four year veteran of the construction industry, Mr. Robinson has worked on student housing, multifamily, mixed use, and commercial projects across the country. He received his Bachelor of Science in Construction Science and Management from Clemson University and is LEED AP certified.

 


 

Chris Brookshire

Director-Development and Pre-Construction

Mr. Brookshire is responsible for project design and project deliverable management. Prior to joining Corvue, Mr. Brookshire was Director of Pre-Construction & Entitlements for Campus Crest Construction, the construction platform for Campus Crest Communities (NYSE: CCG). While with Campus Crest, Mr. Brookshire served in roles of increasing responsibility and worked with the development, preconstruction, construction, and post-construction companies. In addition, he was responsible for the entitlement of eight student housings projects with a budget in excess of $200 million. A sixteen year veteran of the construction industry, Mr. Brookshire has worked on student housing, multifamily, mixed use, industrial, and commercial projects in both the public and private sectors. He received his Bachelor of Science in Construction Science and Management from Clemson University.

 


 

Tom Bade

Director

As Director, Mr. Bade is responsible for financial modeling, monitoring and reporting. Prior to joining Corvue, Mr. Bade was a Project Manager with Linesight Consulting Group where he was the Owner’s Representative for Microsoft on a $300M+ Data Center. Previously, Mr. Bade was a Project Manager with Turner Construction, a North America-based, international construction services company and leading builder in diverse market segments. He was responsible for building baseball stadiums and data centers with such clients as the Chicago Cubs, University of Illinois in Chicago, Digital Realty Trust, and Microsoft. Mr. Bade received his Bachelors of Science in Civil Engineering from Purdue University and an MBA from the University of Chicago’s Booth School of Business.

Paul Reim

Mr. Reim has been engaged in acquiring, developing, owning and operating multifamily in California for over 20 years. He has been involved as a principal in acquiring and operating over 6,700 multifamily units throughout California and Hawaii. Mr. Reim previously worked with CBRE for 14 years as a multifamily investment sales specialist throughout Southern California, becoming one of the top investment sales professionals at CBRE nationwide.  Mr. Reim received his Bachelor of Science degree in Finance from Pepperdine University, with the distinction of Magna Cum Laude. In addition, Mr. Reim is an Adjunct Professor at Pepperdine University teaching in the field of real estate investment.

 


 

John A. Padilla, AIA

Mr. Padilla has been engaged in planning and development on a wide range of projects located in New Mexico, Texas and Colorado. Mr. Padilla’s portfolio spans residential, commercial, tenant development, food service, single and multi-family housing, mixed use, commercial office development and planning. His services are enhanced with special project development capabilities including design, planning, construction documents, construction observation, administration and Owner representation.  Mr. Padilla’s many leadership positions have included President of AIA Santa Fe, AIA New Mexico, Secretary and Director of the Western Mountain Region council. As a member of the Board of Directors of the American Institute of Architects he has served as Vice President and currently serves as Secretary of the AIA. Mr. Padilla is the recipient of the New Mexico Architects Medal and was awarded the Richard Upjohn Fellowship from the AIA.  Mr. Padilla attended the University of Houston School of Architecture and is a registered architect in Texas, New Mexico and Colorado.

 


 

Pete Goldschmidt, Ph.D.

Dr. Goldschmidt is a professor in the College of Education at California State University Northridge, where he teaches graduate courses in statistics, research methods, and program evaluation.  His expertise includes advanced methods in quasi-experimental analyses and longitudinal modeling which he applies to program, teacher, and school evaluations.  He has served on several national technical advisory and expert review committees – including the US Department of Education, the Chilean Ministry of Education, and the Peruvian Ministry of Education. He also served on the National Assessment Governing Board Policy Task Force, was chair of the growth metrics committee for PARCC, as well as chair of the AERA Hierarchical Linear Modeling SIG.  Dr. Goldschmidt has collaborated with the World Bank on several international evaluations of school systems in South America and Asia – including the first national evaluation of education in Peru. Dr. Goldschmidt has presented at national conferences such as AERA/NCME and the National Conference on Student Assessment and has published numerous articles in peer reviewed journals such as the American Educational Research Journal, Educational Evaluation and Policy Analysis, and School Effectiveness and School Improvement. Dr. Goldschmidt received his Ph.D. in Social Research Methodology from the Graduate School of Education at UCLA.

 


 

Michael Tassi, CPA

Mr. Tassi is responsible for overseeing all of the day-to-day accounting functions including financial reporting and budgeting. Prior to joining Corvue, Mr. Tassi had served over 20 years in the private sector in the capacity of Chief Financial Officer and Controller in real estate and a variety of other industries including transportation, automotive retail, waste removal and design architecture. Mr. Tassi also currently serves as president of MJT Accounting & Business Solutions, Inc., a public accounting firm which he started in 2005. He received his Bachelor’s Degree from DePaul University in Chicago and obtained his CPA certification in the state of Illinois.
